Jesus taught in parables to reveal spiritual truth to those open and discerning while concealing it from hardened hearts—just as the same sun softens wax but hardens clay (Matthew 13:10–16). Similarly, modern movies can serve as contemporary parables, offering spiritual insights to those who engage their sanctified imaginations. As Christ’s ambassadors (2 Corinthians 5:20), we should wisely discern and connect biblical truths within entertainment, resisting the temptation to check out mentally and spiritually. By doing so, we can use these cultural stories as bridges to spark meaningful conversations about God and the gospel.
