Training for Godliness
This powerful message challenges us to shift our training focus from the temporary to the eternal. Drawing a compelling parallel between athletic training and spiritual discipline, we're reminded that while physical training has value for this life, godliness holds promise for both the present and the life to come. The heart of this training is gospel proclamation—learning to eagerly share the simple yet profound truth that Jesus, the crucified and risen one, is Lord of all. Through the accessible Three Circles method, we discover how to articulate God's design, acknowledge the brokenness caused by our sin, and point others to Jesus as the only way out. What makes this approach so practical is its foundation in common ground—everyone understands brokenness. We've all tried to escape it through money, relationships, substances, or achievements, only to find ourselves snapping back like a rubber band. But when we turn from these broken solutions and follow Jesus, we find true forgiveness and restoration. The challenge isn't just to understand this gospel but to train ourselves repeatedly in sharing it, getting multiple reps with trusted partners until it becomes second nature. Our responsibility is faithful proclamation; the Holy Spirit handles the response.
